Lake Vista of New Orleans

This area is a recent fascination of mine. The best planned community I have come across is right here in town. Parks, pedestrian lanes on the shore of Lake Ponchartrain. The rear of houses face the street allowing all homes to face the common green spaces they share.

In the "city that care forgot", this is one of the many forgotten buildings....I found the pictures I took in 2004 or so, shown above. The pictures below show the state it is in now and a little context of the area. One of my long time architect comrades, Erich Nelson did his thesis on adapting this building. That was in 1993.

It looks from the pictures that the owner has taken steps to seal the building's interior off from the elements and the brick seems to be the same as pre katrina. The building also looks unoccupied whatsoever at this point.
